Nairobi, Kenya [6th May 2021] Four of Kenya’s top-rated corporate lawyers have joined forces to form a new law firm - RONN Law. Leading Kenyan lawyers Muthoni Runji-Pertet, Sean Omondi, Njau Mukuha and Anthony Njogu (all previously partners in Pan-African law firm Bowmans) are all recognized as experts in their respective fields and have over 60 years combined experience working in some of Africa and Kenya's largest firms. The four said the move is in response to a growing need for a different and more personal offering from independent and full-service corporate law firms within the Kenyan legal market.

Anthony Njogu is reputed for his dispute resolution expertise. In both arbitration and litigation, clients know Anthony for his understanding of commercial disputes as well as the commercial pressures that business entities face. He works with multinational clients ranging from media and technology companies, banks and industrial concerns to pharmaceutical companies on their constitutional, regulatory, insolvency, IP, tax litigation and public procurement matters.

Njau Mukuha is a top-rated projects lawyer who advises on energy, infrastructure, natural resources, project finance and PPPs. His projects experience includes railways, highways, and ports. He also has significant experience advising companies in energy M&A transactions, large projects and investment projects. In energy, he has acted for clients with a particular emphasis on preparing and negotiating O&M contracts, concession agreements and PPAs. He has been recognised several times as one of Kenya's top energy and infrastructure lawyers.

Sean Omondi specializes in complex, high-value employment advisory and litigation work. Some of the world's leading legal directories have recognized him multiple times for his work helping businesses with their employment law compliance and disputes. He has worked on the staff restructuring/retrenchment/redundancy exercises for various blue-chip companies and NGOs. He has also advised and acted for senior executives on employment-related matters. Sean is also a certified public secretary, and he holds the position of company secretary in a number of companies spread across various sectors.

Muthoni Runji-Pertet is a real estate, banking and finance lawyer who has a wide experience in complex real estate matters, real estate developments, project structuring, commercial sales, commercial leasing as well as banking and debt restructuring matters, She has worked with several commercial developers in some of Kenya's innovative development projects. Muthoni is a qualified company secretary and governance auditor.

Together, the partners will lead a formidable team helping businesses with advice running the gamut from commercial arbitration, corporate law, employment law, energy, dispute resolution, financial services, infrastructure, natural resources, construction, public private partnerships and real estate.

The firm has appointed Anthony Njogu as managing partner. “We are very excited to offer something fresh and innovative to the market. We see ourselves as pioneers in creating an all-around client-centred practice and using legal design to create thoughtful and transformative experiences for everyone we work with. The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted many things, including how businesses work with their external counsel and the resources they have to dedicate to legal spending. We think that our smaller size, industry-leading experts and full-service offering combine to make us more efficient to deliver actual value to our clients. We are also proud of our independence and diversity. We strongly believe that it allows us to be more agile as well as open to more ideas and perspectives. That is good for business – our clients’ and ours" said Anthony Njogu (Managing Partner).

The firm also announced the official opening of its new offices at The Address on Muthangari Drive, Westlands, Nairobi.
